Violet, Maddie, and Piper go Camping!

Hi guys! It's Piper. I don't post very much on here because I'm not a very fast or good writer, but I do like to share my adventures with all of you who read the blog. So last weekend my friends Violet and Maddie invited me to go camping with their family. I had a lot of fun exploring the lake and forest! I know that I live on a forested island, but the beaches at home are rocky instead of sandy and aren't good for swimming really.

We also went canoeing and tubing. I was glad that we had such good weather.

I  guess that's all I really have to say. I'll try to post more soon!

Georgia's Trip to Ireland

Hey everyone! It's Georgia, and I'm super excited to be here sharing all my pictures from my trip to Ireland! Sorry to keep you all waiting for so long!

Before we flew to Ireland we flew from home to New York City. As many of you know, Eve used to live in New York City as a child so she told me if I only had a few hours in the city I should definitely visit the Statue of Liberty. I'm glad I took her advice because it was so cool! It was really interesting to think about all the immigrants, including some of my mom's ancestors, that had immigrated from across the ocean and first arrived in America at this exact spot!

After our boat ride, we then went back to the airport to fly to Ireland! I slept most of the plane ride so unfortunately I can't tell you much about it!

Then we drove to the town of Adare, where we were staying. My mama did all of the driving since she's from England and has driven on the "opposite" side of the road before. It was very weird for me and my mom! The first thing we did after unpacking at our villa in Adare was visit this cute park. It used to be part of the grounds of Adare Manor.

Two more photos of me in the park.

The next day we visited Blarney Castle. We all kissed the Blarney stone, but my favorite part about this stop on our trip was exploring the gardens! There's a poison garden where every plant is poisinous. I thought it was a little scary but also very cool- it seemed like something Piper would find fascinating!

On the third day we went to Kinsale and the Old Head of Kinsale, which is where these photos were taken! It was so beautiful. It reminded me of the Cliffs of Mohr, where we went later in the trip. Unfortunately it was raining that day so I don't have any pictures from there, but I personally thought that the Old Head of Kinsale was a lot cooler since it was more secluded.

The fourth day we visited Galway. I loved it there! Everything was so festive and colorful, and I also wore my Celtic dancing dress and headband that day! I went to an art shop too, and a music store. We also went to the bookstore and bought the European version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone- in the States it's called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

On the fifth day we went to the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren. The Burren is a rocky landscape region in Ireland. We also saw a tomb from 1,200 years before Christ! I thought that was so cool. we don't have anything nearly that old in America.

On our way home we stopped to see Leamaneh Castle. It's on private property but we got some good pictures. Apparently it's haunted by the ghost of a princess!

Here are some photos of me in Adare. I loved the thatched cottages! They were built as housing for servants of Lord Dunraven, who lived in Adare Manor in the 1860's.

These last two photos are of me at an ancient stone building. It's thought that it was used as a church or as a shelter for travelers. In the second photo you can see the Irish countryside- everything was so green!

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my trip! Until next time,
-Georgia

Busy Packing!

Hi everyone! It's Georgia! On Monday I will be going to Ireland! I'm super excited! I've been busy packing my suitcase for the trip. I'm really looking forward to everything, even the plane ride! And on the way there, I'll also be going to New York City! How cool! Venus has been telling me all the things I should do there since she used to live there.

I will be back soon with lots of photographs and stories about our adventures!

Sweet Like Strawberry Ice Cream

Hi everyone! Zaira here. Have you all missed me? I've been super busy lately- at the beginning of April I went with my parents to Japan for the Cherry Blossom festival, and after that I took exams at the end of the school year! Ever since school got out I've been helping my mom and dad redecorate the house and repaint it, which we just now finished! Luckily I have such great friends like Marlee who always are ready to help with writing blog posts, and of course I can't thank Eve enough for her lovely photos! You'll see some more of those right...NOW!

I'm sure many of you know my friend Maja. She loves glitter, crystals, journalling, and the color pink! She loves pink so much that she decided to dye the ends of her hair that color, and look how great it is! I love it!

Also, I know you're all here to see the hair, but can we just take a moment for that outfit? Maja has one of the coolest senses of fashion of anyone I know!

I hope you all enjoyed this post! You'll be seeing a lot more posts here on the blog this summer. Until then, have a great day!

Marlee and Maja Have an Adventure

Hi everyone! It's me, Marlee! I'm back to tell you about an adventure that Maja and I went on! Now, I have to let you know, Maja and I are not usually the adventurous types. That's usually Piper and Maddie's areas of expertise. But, we decided to enlist those aforementioned adventurous friends in helping us take a little rowboat ride around the Island. Luckily enough, Piper's family actually owns their own rowboat, and Mrs. Merriman said we could borrow it! Thanks, Mrs. M! :) Anyway, our next goal, after getting a boat, was to make it around the island safely, which, knowing the two of us, could be harder than you might think! Luckily we made it, and only got a little wet getting out of the boat. When we finished, Piper, Nikki, and the two of us walked into town to get some pineapple Fanta from the bike shop. If you've never had it, you NEED to try it! It's my favorite.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our adventure! In a week and a half, Georgia is going to Ireland with her moms to visit her extended family, her cousins and things. Piper, who used to live there, has given her a very long list of things to do, so I'm sure she'll have plenty of photos to share with you all when she gets back. I can't wait to hear about her trip!

-Marlee

(Also, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a secret or not, and it's too late for me to call Zaira and ask, but I heard that there might be a new girl coming to the Island! If she's willing, hopefully you'll all meet her soon!)

Our New Friend Georgia

Nikki Sherman - May 22nd 2017 - 8:04 pm

Hi all! Sorry we've been MIA for a while :') We're back now that school is almost over! And back with a bang, as well- we've got a "new" friend to introduce to you all! She moved here almost eight months ago actually, and she fit into our friend group just like a missing puzzle piece. I would like you to meet my friend Georgia Aisling McKenzie! Georgia likes fashion, exploring the beaches, and has a lovely boho type style, although she's also played dress up in Claudia's very 40's and 50's inspired wardrobe for a few of these photos, which were taken for our instagram. Here are the photos, courtesy of our amazing photographer Eve, as always.

Okay, well, Eve didn't take this one. Georgia took a spring break trip to Chicago and her mama took this picture that was too pretty not to share.

Here's me and Georgie! We were modelling some very cute outfits here if I do say so myself. Everything G is wearing is her own, see how she has an eye for pattern and texture?

Here's us watching Claud try her new roller skates.

Anyway, we have some more photos to post and we'll do that later this week. Hope that you enjoyed these and meeting our friend Georgia! I'll see you next time (or, maybe I won't, as it'll be someone else's turn to write!).

So long!
-Nikki

Meet Claudia!

Hello everyone! This is Marlee! Today I would like to introduce you to my new friend, Claudia! Her parents both got hired at the island school earlier this month and we're all so excited to have another girl our age around. Claudia LOVES art- and Zaira of course was so excited to meet her as she has a super cool and retro 40's, 50's and 60's fashion sense. In fact, Zaira had me recreate the look from our last post for the photo above since our styles coordinated so nicely. Usually I'm more into rose golds and modern, clean looks but this dress is one of my favorites for spring.

Claudia has the greatest clothing collection. A few of the pieces she owns belonged to her grandma, Antonia, who lived in Cuba in the 1950's when she was a teenager, and all her life Claudia and her mother and grandmother have loved travelling to thrift shops to get new retro pieces. The dress Claud is wearing today is actually from a shop in her hometown of Marquette, and she told me that it's probably from the 1940's and was likely made from an old chicken feed sack. During this time chicken feed sacks were often patterned and people made clothing out of them to save money during the Great Depression.

Claudia invited Eve and I over to her house for lunch after we took a little walk to the park, and she showed us her amazing pink typewriter! How cool is that?

I'll see you next time!

Two Sisters and a Strawberry Sundress

Hello everyone! This is Marlee writing today, not your regularly scheduled and quite possibly more qualified host, Zaira. As a group, the twelve of us girls decided that the blog would benefit greatly if we all wrote posts- we hadn't done this in the past for several reasons:
  1. This was, of course, Zaira's blog to begin with, after she was inspired by Violet's now out-of-commission blog. (That was The Amazing World of Violet- if any of you are here from that long ago I'd be pretty impressed! I wasn't here when she started that, and Zaira wasn't even here either! Wow!

  2. It would be hard for us to post, for multiple reasons- the only ones of us with a blog-worthy camera until recently were Eve (of course) and also Maddie and Violet, although they didn't often photograph for the blog because their camera is old and wasn't compatible with their computer. Also, a few of us, namely Piper and Nikki, do not have internet at home.

However, two of us got cameras for Christmas- Violet got a new fancy one, and Cecile got her own well. So, welcome to the new and improved Worldwide Dolls blog- featuring all twelve of us!

Here I am, wearing a lovely strawberry dress that I got at the store when Lila and I visited last weekend. It's so pretty and summery, but I was freezing while I was taking these photos! You can see some snow in the background, oh my! Good thing I had a coat waiting behind the camera for between photos. Lila borrowed Violet and Maddie's old camera to take these- it turns out it does work with our parent's equally old computer! I guess we have a camera too now, as Mrs. Montello said we can keep it for as long as we like, since it's of no use to them.

We've updated our Meet the Dolls page recently, you should check it out! ;) Also, Piper heard news that two new teachers have been hired at the school and will be starting in the spring, and they have a daughter our age! How exciting! The island seems to have quite the group of teen girls, now, doesn't it?

I took a photo of Lila at the end- it's not half bad! What do you think?

Until next time,
-Marlee
