Maja in the Woods

Maja is back again, and something tells me that this isn't a trend that will be stopping anytime soon! Maja's wardrobe and sense of style are fantastic, and she is always willing to pose for photos.

Everything Maja is wearing in this photo is handmade. The overalls and tee shirt were sewn by us, and the necklace was made from a dollar store chain and a little charm from a local store here on the island.

Maja, Venus, and I took this photo in Venus and I's fort behind our houses.

Here is one final look at the whole outfit. Venus said we should open an Etsy shop to sell some of the things we make. What do you think? Would you buy anything?

See you back here again really soon!

Meet Maja!

Hey guys!! I'm so excited to introduce you to my new friend and her lovely sense of style that I just accidentally published this post without an introduction. Whoopsies! This is Maja Florence Larson, Kirsten's cousin, and she's come all the way here from Brazil!

Maja is the friendliest, most bubbly girl I've ever met. As soon as Violet mentioned I had a blog, Maja jumped up and put on this lovely dress, and demanded that we go take pictures so you lovely readers could be introduced to her as soon as possible. That was one request I was happy to meet!

Let's talk about this dress for a second. Maja tells me she bought it in Rio at the festival, and that her sisters, Gabriela and Camila, have matching ones with the embroidery in different colors. The embroidery on Maja's is green, blue and gold.

I think my favorite part is the tired skirt. I hope you enjoyed meeting my new friend, and I expect you'll be seeing lots more of her very soon!!

Marlee in the Woods

These photos of Marlee are pretty old- we took them in the woods on one of the autumn-ish days at the start of spring.

Look how pretty the muted colors are, I think it definitely looks like these were taken in early winter, before the snow, because of the not-too-bright oranges and greens.

Last one for now. You'll see Marlee in another post soon, though, so keep your eyes open!

Bye for now!

This is a quick post because at the moment Cecile, Marlee, and I are studying for exams over lemonades on the balcony of the Pink Pony, but Venus has just send me these photos she submitted for final coursework in her photography class. The model is our friend Nikki, who hasn't been featured here in quite some time! I can't write for any longer because I've got to get back to studying biology, but I hope you enjoy these lovely photos.

Venus in Coral

I think we've featured Venus wearing this outfit on this blog before...but these photos were too gorgeous to not share.

See what I mean? Look at that bokeh!

And this dress looks lovely with Venus's new hair color. She dyed it back to her natural color, and I think it looks fabulous. Look how long it is too! Beautiful.

I've really been on a roll with blog posts recently! And they shouldn't be stopping any time soon. Marlee and I came up with the cutest outfit for her to wear to a party last night, and she wants to show all of you. And then hopefully Maja will be introduced soon as well. So many exciting things happening all at once here on our island!

See you all back here very soon!

Indie in Victorian Style

I promised this post a while ago, but school has been getting in the way of everything! It's finally the weekend and we've just finished taking our finals, so here's some lovely photos of Indie that Venus took this morning,

As many of you know, Indie loves all things related to fairytales and Victorian days, and she bought this dress at the antique fair three weekends ago because Violet told her it looked like something Clara would wear in the Nutcracker. The amazing shoes match perfectly- Marlee found them in her attic while she was going through some boxes of old hats and purses. Indie made the bow and tie at the waist from some ribbon her mom had.

Now, for some updates! As I mentioned in the last post, Kirsten's cousin Maja is scheduled to arrive Friday. I don't want to scare her by shoving a camera in her face right away, of course, but Kirsten's told me that she's very outgoing and has even done some modelling for Brazilian teen clothing stores before, which is so cool! I suppose you'll see her here on the blog sooner rather than later.

I'll leave you with this gorgeous photo Venus snapped this morning, when were taking photos. We actually took them up on the bluff in Marlee's backyard because Indie had to borrow these shoes, but the hotel looked so peaceful before all the tourists arrived for the day on the boat. Tourism is kind of a love-hate thing with all the residents- it can get a bit annoying, but most of our jobs are dependent on it.

See you soon!
